AFNWC members support New Mexico food bank
AFNWC members support New Mexico food bank! Several volunteers from AFNWC’s Engineering Directorate at Kirtland AFB, NM, packed food into boxes and loaded them onto 16 pallets, weighing 1,000 pounds each, last month at Albuquerque's Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Mustafa Muhyi, Las Cruces High School, explains his poster presentation at the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium here April 25. Muhyi's presentation detailed his research on using upper limb relearning methods for physical therapy and rehabilitation from neurological injuries. The JSHS is an annual competition hosted by the Air Force, Army and Navy with more than 230 students from 47 regional competitions presenting research projects across STEM fields ranging from medicine to technology to agriculture. More than $190,000 in scholarships were awarded. The Air Force hosted this year's competition with support from Team Kirtland and the research and development sector in Albuquerque. The two signed their forms in Morris’ office to help the center kick off 2019 AFAF campaign. The fund supports the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation, Air Force Enlisted Villages, and the LeMay Foundation. As of April 4, center members have donated more than $1,800. The national campaign runs through April 26 (local campaigns may run longer).
