Power down for the holidays Published Dec. 18, 2012 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- The Kirtland Energy Action Team recommends the following actions to save energy and dollars: Power down equipment in workspaces and dormitories before heading out for long holiday weekends; turn down manual thermostats to 55° F as you leave the building; turn off lights; ensure lights and exhaust fans in restrooms are off; unplug radios, coffee pots, battery chargers, transformers and space heaters; and turn off copiers and printers at the end of the day.
