Reflect on our legacy as warriors Published Nov. 10, 2011 By By Brig. Gen. Garrett Harencak Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center commander KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- Veterans Day is a time to reflect on our legacy as warriors and defenders of liberty and our great nation. Unlike Memorial Day, which commemorates those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Veterans Day recognizes all who have answered the call of our nation. It is a celebration of the patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good that is the hallmark of all veterans. I hope all of us will take a moment to reflect upon the tremendous commitment, leadership, and sacrifice displayed by the men and women who have served our nation so courageously in the past. We should also take time to reflect upon the service of our teammates in deployed locations and their families left at home. The accomplishments of those brother and sister warriors who have come before us are a shining example of what we can do today if we remain focused, dedicated and willing to make the sacrifices necessary to continue strengthening our nuclear enterprise. As always, thanks for all you and your families do every day for Team Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, our Air Force and America.
