Facebook advisory

Kirtland Air Force Base -- The social networking site Facebook added the new feature "Places I Checked Into".
This feature displays your location to "friends" when you log into the site. This has the potential of putting Facebook users at risk by drawing attention to their whereabouts.
If used at a deployed or sensitive location, it could present an OPSEC compromise. Social networks sites are never fully secure and provide an extensive open source intelligence-gathering tool.
Users may disable the "Places I Checked Into" feature, allowing their location to remain undisclosed.
For many users, disabling this feature may not be intuitive so a tutorial has been posted to Kirtland's Website for assistance: http://www.kirtland.af.mil and Facebook site: KIRTLAND377ABW for assistance.
