Kirtland AFB Update Feb 9, 2011 Published Feb. 9, 2011 377 ABW Public Affairs Kirtland Air Force Base, NM -- ATHOC SYSTEM In previous Installation Commander Directives, all personnel were encouraged to check and update their personal contact information in the AtHoc system (purple globe icon). For computers on the Kirtland AFB unclassified network that are missing the AtHoc purple globe icon, take the following steps: a. The AtHoc purple globe icon may just be hidden. Click on the desktop tray's arrow in the bottom right of the computer screen -- it may be there as a hidden icon. b. If the AtHoc purple globe icon has an X on it, right click on it and select the top option, "Refresh Client Application" to resolve the issue. c. If the AtHoc purple globe icon is missing, the computer will need the AtHoc client software pushed to it. Open a trouble ticket with the base help desk at 846-5926 and provide the computer's machine name. Find the machine name by clicking on the Windows round icon in the bottom left, right click on "Computer," select "Properties," and scroll down to "Computer Name." PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIMS FOR KFH RENTERS Military members renting from Kirtland Family Housing who experience property damage due to the extreme cold temperatures can file a claim with Great American Renter's Insurance by phone at 1-800-833-3549, by fax at 425-649-5917, or by e-mail at mailto:newclaims@plls.com . Proof of loss will be required within 60 days of the loss. This insurance was included with the lease for military members. If the Great American Renter's Insurance does not cover the entire loss, residents are encouraged to file against their own renter's insurance. Note: Non-military residents of Kirtland Family Housing and all residents of Maxwell Family Housing should file with their own renter's insurance, as renter's insurance was NOT included in their leases. All renter's insurance questions should be directed to the insurer. If active-duty military are not fully covered for their losses after all available insurance claims have been made, there may be some additional support through the AF Claims Service Center. The Claims Center phone number is 1-877-754-1212. All personnel are encouraged to check and update their personal contact information in the AtHoc system. The AtHoc system is the purple globe icon in the bottom right of all computers on the Kirtland AFB network. Right click the purple globe; click on "Access Self Service"; click on "Contact Info"; enter your information and click on "Save."
