Kirtland Air Force Base’s movie theater is expected to reopen at the beginning of the year in 2021, pending COVID-19 health guidelines and regulations.

The base theater, which shows free movies on the weekends and hosts base group events, has been undergoing major renovations since last year. Updates to look forward to include new tile flooring, wall coverings, seating and lighting.

“We are very excited to be getting the theatre back up and running,” said Aaron Feinberg, 377th Force Support Squadron community services flight chief. “Having the theater back in operation will be a great addition for the morale, recreation and mission of Kirtland Air Force Base.”

The theater will continue renovations through the end of the year.
