  • AFRL NM STEM Academy “Mission to Mars” is going virtual

    The Air Force Research Laboratory New Mexico STEM Academy will be virtually continuing their “2020 Mission to Mars” experience for 4th-6th grade students. Students are invited to virtually participate in eight days of activities, centered on planning a simulated manned-mission to Mars.

  • AFRL New Mexico units identified to transfer to U.S. Space Force

    The Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland AFB recently received news that some of their missions will transfer to the U.S. Space Force (USSF). AFRL units readying for transfer include most of the Space Vehicles Directorate missions and the Directed Energy Directorate’s Electro-Optics Division.

    The Air Force Research Laboratory has set up the Air Force’s first high-energy laser weapon system overseas for a 12-month field assessment. The Air Force Strategic Development Planning & Experimentation (SDPE) Office located here is leading the project.
