A B-1B Lancer takes off from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, March 22, 2023. In preparation for possible inclement weather, Dyess Airmen rapidly prepared over a dozen aircraft to relocate, successfully demonstrating America’s Lift and Strike Base’s ability to achieve dynamic force employment while using agile combat employment. The B-1s were temporarily relocated to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, while the C-130s flew to several airfields throughout the United States. “This relocation not only protects our B-1 fleet from potential severe weather, but it also shows agile combat employment implementation,” said Col. Joseph Kramer, 7th Bomb Wing commander. “Moving at a faster rate, to more locations, is something we may need in a high-end fight. We appreciate Holloman’s ability to host our aircraft and Airmen, and this effort demonstrates that this action is repeatable when necessary.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman Emma Anderson)
