About 500 people attended Kirtland's anniversary banquet at the New Mexico Air National Guard’s 150th Special Operations Wing hangar April 16. The banquet had a 1940s theme, to remember the opening of Albuquerque Army Air Base on Jan. 7, 1941. Period attire and static displays of World War II vehicles helped bring the theme to life.
