Bulk Fuels Facility

The Air Force and the New Mexico Environment Department are hosting a field trip Oct. 24 at Kirtland Air Force Base to demonstrate the work being done to remove groundwater contamination caused by a leak at the base bulk fuels facility. The field trip is open to the public. In June, a pump-and-treat water system was installed that successfully extracted and treated more than two million gallons of water. (Photo by Todd Berenger)
