Hispanic Heritage Month

Members of Albuquerque's Baila-Baila Dance Academy perform the ballet folklorico, a Mexican folk dance, at the Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff breakfast Sept. 17 at the Mountain View Club. The month-long celebration, which is themed "Hispanics: Leading and Serving Our Nation with Pride and Honor," honors the history, cultures, and contributions of Americans with ancestors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Groups at the dance academy range in age from 2 to 18 years. (Photo by Dennis Carlson)
