Honoring a Hero

Tuskegee Airman Robert Lawrence is honored by the Kirtland AFB Honor Guard as he and wife Tina pass down a terminal in the Albuquerque International Sunport Saturday. Mr. Lawrence returned from Washington, D.C., where he and the other Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, which is the highest civilian award bestowed by the U.S. Congress. The medal was first presented in 1776 to George Washington since then it has been awarded to American heroes in all walks of life. (U.S. Air Force photo by Adam Wooten)
