KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- The Detachment 1, 342nd Training Squadron conducted a dedication ceremony Dec. 6 in honor of Staff Sgt. William H. Pitsenbarger at the Guardian Angel Training Center. During the ceremony a sculpture of Pitsenbarger was unveiled. Pitsenbarger was an Air Force pararescueman who gave his life in 1966 defending a unit of soldiers in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Air Force Cross, later upgraded to the Medal of Honor, becoming the first enlisted Airman to receive the medals posthumously. (Photo by Todd Berenger)
