Hearts Apart families tour fire department, have lunch at Thunderbird Inn Published June 25, 2007 By Sheila Rupp Nucleus Journalist KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, New Mexico -- Hearts Apart families visited the base fire station June 6 for a tour of the facility and equipment. Children got a chance to look at the emergency vehicles while parents got summer safety tips from fire personnel. The families also enjoyed lunch at the Thunderbird Inn dining facility. Hearts Apart is a program designed for the families of deployed servicemembers for support and networking. Meetings are the first Saturday of each month at the Consolidated Support Building in the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For more information about Hearts Apart, call Tech. Sgt.
