National POW/MIA Recognition Day Published Sept. 24, 2010 By Jonathan Rejent 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Kirtland Air Force Base, NM -- More than 250 people, including former prisoners of war and family and friends of those still missing in action, attended the POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony Sept. 17 at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial. Col. Robert L. Maness, 377th Air Base Wing commander and keynote speaker for the event, reflected on the importance of remembering the sacrifices of POWs and paid tribute to the families of those missing in action.
