  • ALS class collects food donations for local veterans, homeless shelters

    Although COVID-19 may have limited volunteer options due to social distancing guidelines and restrictions within the community, the most recent class of Airman Leadership School (ALS) students and instructors still found a way for Airmen to get involved with their community. Throughout the six weeks of the course, Kakascik and the rest of the ALS 20-5 students collected nearly 800 cans from the Team Kirtland community.

  • 58th SOW Airman awarded Distinguished Flying Cross

  • PMEL evaluator recognized for excellence

    Kirtland’s Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, or PMEL, recently passed its AFMETCAL evaluation and certification, and one individual was recognized for outstanding performance. Dave McMillan was presented with an AFMETCAL Excellence Coin in recognition of his outstanding work as a quality assurance evaluator.
  • Kirtland welcomes new violence prevention integrator

    In support of the Air Force’s Violence Prevention Program, Kirtland has hired its first violence prevention integrator. Edith Wegner, who has 20 years of civil service experience, will lead Team Kirtland in its violence prevention efforts. Her position falls under the Comprehensive Airman Fitness umbrella.
  • Pararescue students put through final paces in joint exercises with Army

    The cadre at the USAF Pararescue School here employed a dynamic exercise regimen and the 3-501st Air Assault Brigade, an Army unit from Fort Bliss, Texas, to create the fog of war for students Jan. 4-13.
