Fans of Air Force football should plan on joining a giant tailgate party in advance of the New Mexico - Air Force Academy football game Nov. 8.

Capt. Daniel Benfield, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, is planning the party for cadets, former graduates, Kirtland personnel and Air Force fans in the local area.

"It's open to everyone. Our goal is to make one big tailgate party for anyone who wants to come out and support the Air Force team," Benfield said. "It will be a giant gathering of Air Force fans."

The event will be located in the parking lot in front of The Pit (Lobos basketball stadium) a few hours prior to game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Burgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks and yard games, including a bouncy castle for kids, will be provided. While the event is free, organizers are asking for donations to cover the cost of food. Proceeds of a raffle for Air Force sports memorabilia will also help cover costs.

Discounted seating in the Air Force section is $10 and can be purchased here.  (Note: This link will not work from a government computer.) Seating in this section is limited.

If you plan to attend the tailgate party, or want to purchase raffle tickets in advance, contact Benfield daniel.benfield.1@us.af.mil or Capt. Christopher McClintock at christopher.mcclintock@us.af.mil.  RSVP is desired to help plan food purchases.
