Destinee Bivins Unit: 377th Maintenance Squadron Duty Title: NCOIC of Airfield Management Training Hometown: Gates, N.C. Goals: Complete bachelor's degree in health and wellness at Ashford University by the end of the year. Once completed, cross train into the medical career field or explore the possibility of becoming a commissioned officer working in the Air Force's medical corps. Pursue and obtain higher level certifications in health and wellness in order to become more competitive in the civilian sector once retired from active duty. Accomplishments: Bivins has been stationed at Kirtland since August 2014. She supervises and implements the training program for six airfield management personnel, to include two civilians. Additionally, she maintains and reviews the section checklists, flight plans, and traffic logs for currency and accuracy. Bivins executed the airfield manager role for the past two months and oversaw $3.2 million in construction projects. She provided joint flight plan support and briefed the Department of Energy, US and British C-17 aircrews regarding airfield construction, flight planning, and flight line driving. Furthermore, Bivins is the 377th MXS Booster Club Secretary and is very involved in both the base and local community. She volunteers at the base Youth Center as well as Habitat for Humanity.
