377th Air Base Wing change of command set for May 21

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Tom Miller, 377th Air Base Wing and installation commander, will relinquish command at a ceremony May 21 at 9 a.m. at Hangar 333.

Miller, who is leaving to be the vice commander at the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., said he and his wife enjoyed their time here.

"Kim and I have been privileged to be part of this incredible team at Kirtland and the Albuquerque community," he said. "I've been impressed every single day with the professionalism and dedication of the Airmen in the 377th ABW and what they do for our nation."

The sustainment center consists of more than 32,000 military and civilian personnel, and provides installation support to more than 141 associate units with more than 75,000 personnel.

Col. Eric Froehlich will assume command of the air base wing. Froehlich comes from Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, where he was the vice commander of the 82nd Training Wing. Among his many duties, he was responsible for advising the commander regarding the training of more than 60,000 military students annually.

"My family and I are thrilled at the opportunity to serve with the Airmen and mission partners of Team Kirtland," Froehlich said. "I am looking forward to commanding a wing with such a dynamic and strategically important mission."
