The 377th Test Support Squadron hosted students from the Air Force Safety Center’s International Flight Safety Officer Course on Sept. 18. This six-week course, held 2-3 times a year, provides safety education for foreign officers managing flight safety programs.

Kenneth Mosely, 377 TSS airfield management shift lead, taught 27 students from 13 different countries about airfield management procedures, including how to file a flight plan, aircraft parking, taxiing procedures, and aircraft mishap procedures.

“It was a great opportunity to highlight not only our unit’s capabilities but also how we work with other mission partners on base,” said Master Sgt. Anthony Wilson, 377 TSS senior enlisted leader. “We were able to showcase the 377 ABW’s capabilities and heritage.”

The visit not only facilitated learning but also strengthened bonds between global allies through the exchange of military patches.

“The visit was a great opportunity to network with safety professionals from other countries and to show off our military patch collection, which is well into the thousands,” said Wilson. “These types of visits underscore the importance of international collaboration and the ongoing commitment to promoting safety in aviation.”

The IFSO course, which includes topics such as Aviation Safety Program Management, Human Factors, Aircraft Material Factors, and Aircraft Mishap Investigation, aims to equip Allied flying safety officers with comprehensive safety program management fundamentals, safety principles, and mishap investigation techniques.
