A lieutenant within the Space Development and Test Wing here was recognized earlier this month by Lt. Gen. Michael Hamel at Los Angeles AFB, Calif., as Space and Missile Systems Center's junior company grade officer of the year.

First Lt. Mandi L. Fuller was selected from a pool of over 300 applicants based on her military performance, significant self improvement and service within her community. Lieutenant Fuller excelled in each of these categories.

Within the past year, Lieutenant Fuller managed the integration of an $80 million joint missile defense program, the integration of the $750 million Space Test Program-1, managed four independent space experiments, led the target development for the Airborne Laser Program and developed satellite fueling operations for the first autonomous docking and fuel transfer of two satellites in space.

While managing these programs, Lieutenant Fuller was also able to accomplish a dual master's degree at the University of New Mexico, earned her level two proficiency in two related career assignments and reached her scuba diving requirement for rescue diver status.

Lieutenant Fuller is also devoted to the Habitat for Humanity affiliate, her church, her unit as a physical fitness monitor, unit safety representative and is the unit deployment assistant.

These efforts have also resulted in her selection of the Space Acquisition Exchange Program by Air Force Personnel Center, in which she will experience a space operations assignment beyond her current acquisition career field.
