PECI enhances productivity Published Dec. 5, 2008 By Hanna Chang 377th Mission Support Squadron KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, New Mexico -- A little known program, the Air Force Productivity Enhancing Capital Investment program, provides funding for improvement projects at Air Force bases worldwide, and provides it fast. The program, over time, saves the Air Force hundreds of millions of dollars. One good example of how the program works is when an organization had equipment consisting of 22 trailers, connected together, to provide workspace. They were leased for $361,000, annually. Using the PECI program, the trailers were purchased saving the Air Force $245,000 per year with a payback period of 26 months. To view other success stories, visit their secure Web site, https://peciweb.seguetech.com/success.aspx Over the past 5 years, PECI had $42,738,535 invested with 220 individual projects approved realizing a total lifecycle savings of $562,166,330. This resulted in a combined 13 to 1 return on investment.
