Team Kirtland is making the final preparations for the 2011 Open House.

"We invite our friends and neighbors to enjoy the spectacular aerobatic performance of the U.S. Air
Force Thunderbirds, and several other performances," said Col. David Hornyak, 377th Air Base Wing vice commander.

In addition to the Thunderbirds, about 20 aircraft will be on static display and more than 25 other exhibits will be in place on the ground. Scheduled aerial demonstrations include the U.S. Air Force Academy "Wings of Blue" parachute team, a T-33 Shooting Star, and the 58th Special Operations Wing, as well as a flyover by a B-2 Spirit and a B-1 Lancer.

Ground exhibits include demonstrations by the 377th Security Forces Squadron Working Dog Section, pararescuemen from Detachment 1, 342nd Training Squadron, and the 377th Explosive
Ordnance Disposal Branch, as well as musical performances by the Air Force Band of the West throughout the day.

Base gates will open to the public at 9 a.m. and the Open House will end at 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.kirtland.af.mil/.
