Airman awarded AFA medal

KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. --  1st Lt. Dan Whalen, Air Force Research Laboratory, was awarded the Air Force Association's Medal of Merit for his outstanding service supporting the New Mexico AFA's newsletter, liaison with University of New Mexico ROTC's Arnold Air Society and Arnold Air Society nationwide at the AFA's National Convention and Air & Space Conference for two years.

Also at the conference, Staff Sgt. Jordan Bishopp, 377th Air Base Wing, was recognized as one of the Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year.

The Air Force Association is a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting Air Force airpower.
