Airmen needing help maintaining their Air Force physical fitness standards can sign up for the Health and Wellness Center's Total Resistance Exercise Cross Training class.

The class combines speed, strength and agility exercises.

Keith Prince, exercise physiologist and class instructor at the HAWC said that one of his goals for the course is to help people improve their weaknesses.

"I've seen many individuals who have struggled with their fitness program," Prince said. "This class allows me to see more people at once and work on individuals' specific limitations when it comes to the fitness assessment."

The class works as a team, and everyone wants to see each other succeed, he said.
"We have a great group dynamic," said Prince. "Individuals are assisting others and everyone is helping each other out."

The class has had success in helping students reach their fitness goals.

"I'm seeing great results from students who are showing up," said Prince. "Over a period of three months, one student lost 30 pounds and 2 1/2 inches off his waist. This student couldn't run a lap when he first showed up here. After taking this class, he was able to complete the mile-and-a-half run in 12 minutes, 45 seconds."

According to Prince, TRX Cross Training gives students a complete workout and provides fitness fundamentals.

"This class works all aspects of the body to promote total fitness," said Prince. "It's a place where students can come and be successful, get motivated and have a good foundation of what it means to be fit."

Class is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7 a.m. For more information and to sign up for the class, contact the HAWC at 846-1186.
