Automated system to replace Kirtland AFB switchboard operations

KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- The Kirtland Air Force Base switchboard operations will transition to an automated answering system effective Sunday.

Customers requiring directory assistance should call 853-4636 or "0" from on-base phone numbers.

Those numbers will connect to the automated information line for organizational and personnel directories.

In order to provide for a smooth transition, all Kirtland AFB users need to ensure their voicemail is updated for the automated answering system to transfer calls successfully.

Base personnel requiring updates to their voicemail should submit a work order through their unit Telephone Control Officers.
