898 MUNS commander receives award

Maj. Andrew Hackleman, 898th Munitions Squadron commander, right, was recently awarded the Maj. Gen. Saunders Chapter Distinguished Service Award for outstanding leadership as president of the Lt. Gen. Marquez Chapter of the Logistics Officers Association at Kirtland AFB.

Lt. Gen. Judith Fedder, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., center, presented the award, along with Col. Tom Miller, LOA national president.

During his term, Hackleman implemented several initiatives to strengthen the chapter's ability to serve its membership and achieve national LOA objectives, including implementing a chapter lifetime membership category, establishing cross-organizational chapter advisors and organizing the chapter's volunteer support of several LOA national symposium activities.

Additionally, he was noted for his leadership and support of the Marquez Memorial Park dedication.
