HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Stellar Talent Acquisitions Recruiting Referral program recognizes Airmen and Guardians as they inspire the next generation to serve in the Department of the Air Force.

Introduced in May 2023, individuals can earn up to two Air and Space Achievement Medals and one Air and Space Commendation Medal by referring personnel to enlist.

“The program launched last year to incentivize all Airmen and Guardians to participate in recruitment efforts, ultimately increasing enlistments and strengthening the force,” said Master Sgt. Jason Beaucage, 319th Recruiting Squadron B Flight chief and a STARR program coordinator.

According to officials, members are rewarded for their contributions to recruiting efforts, highlighting the importance of every referral in shaping the future of the Air Force and Space Force.

Under the guidelines outlined in Department of the Air Force Manual 36-2806, Airmen and Guardians in grades of E-1 to E-8 and O-1 to O-5 are eligible to receive an ASAM for the first and third applicants for referring three enlisted accessions applicants who depart for basic military training, provided the applicants enter service in either the Air Force or Space Force.

Additionally, the fifth referral that enters active duty earns the referring member an ASCOM.

Referrals are submitted through the Aim High application, available at https://www.airforce.com/aim-high-app.

To participate in the program, Airmen and Guardians can easily download the Aim High App and follow these steps:

1. Create an account using your full name and .mil email address.
2. Open the application and navigate to the "more" section.
3. Select "Refer a Friend" and follow the prompts to submit your referral.

The program is open to any enlisted member, or officer up to colonel.

The STARR program is among several efforts by the 319th Recruiting Squadron to enlist members. Among them include the Committed Augmentee Recruiting Effort program, partnering with Airman Leadership School students and staff to visit local high schools, volunteer recruiter augmentees, and the Air and Space Forces’ Sentry Educator Award program.
