Maj. Gen. Scott Jansson, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center commander, left, presented Sherman McCorkle, Kirtland Partnership Committee vice chair, with the Air Force Scroll of Appreciation during a recent KPC board meeting in Albuquerque. The scroll recognizes "meritorious achievement or service that are completely voluntary and performed as a public service or patriotic in nature." McCorkle was instrumental in resolving several issues of major importance to both Kirtland Air Force Base and local communities. He also helped establish the committee, which seeks to enhance existing missions at Kirtland while attracting appropriate new missions at the lowest possible cost.
