Nonappropriated Funds Human Resources Office recruits for positions listed on the established position list for Nonappropriated Funds within the 377th Services Squadron.

Positions do not have to be posted or opened in order to apply. Applicants must be 16 years of age to apply for most positions, 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent to work in our Youth Support Flight Child Development Center and Boys and Girls Club), and 21 years of age to work around alcoholic beverages.

NAF Resources Office accepts applications on a continuous basis and applications are kept on file for 90 days.

They accept applications from anyone that applies. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to apply for nonappropriated fund positions, however, if a non-U.S. citizen is selected, a work authorization card must be provided at time of in-processing.

The Defense Commissary operates a worldwide chain of 284 commissaries to provide groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families.

Department of Energy, Albuquerque Operations Office
The U.S. Department of Energy's Albuquerque Operations Office employs approximately 1,000 personnel on Kirtland AFB.

The Kirtland AFB Civilian Personnel Flight is the point of contact for civil service government employment opportunities on Kirtland AFB provides employment opportunities for federal employees with current career or career-conditional status. Employment opportunities also exist for individuals with no prior federal service experience. Recruiting for these positions is centralized at the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph AFB, Texas.

How To Apply
Positions at the Commissary are filled through the Telephone Application Processing System. After picking up an application from the commissary, simply follow the application process as described in the Supplemental Qualifications Statement Questionnaire that comes with the application. You then call the Telephone Application Processing System and answer questions by phone. This phone call should take about eight minutes if you fill out the questionnaire in advance.

You should then receive written notice within 7-14 days that will show the information you entered. If you are not satisfied with your application responses, or if you did not receive written notification of your responses, you should call and re-enter your application.

The Career Focus Program assists military, family members and DOD personnel in their job search. One-on-one career counseling is available to help in assessment of skills, education, and career training. Workshops provide assistance in employment seeking strategies. The CFP is designed to enhance the marketability and employability of Air Force family members and DOD personnel. If you are seeking employment, make this your first stop in that process. Our goal is to help you find the job you want, based on your interest areas and skills.

Resource Center
The Resource Center has computer programs which provide job availability throughout the United States plus access to word processing programs to create or update resumes and cover letters.

The job bank, also in the Resource Center, lists employment vacancies in the local area. Typically, there are over 100 jobs listed in the job banks. Career enhancement videos and books are available to sign out. The Resource Room is open Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to use the room. 

Volunteer Resource Program

The Volunteer Resource Program is a base wide program designated to fully use and recognize the contributions of volunteers at Kirtland AFB. One of its primary functions is to assist base volunteer agencies in meeting their needs and to help individuals find volunteer placement matching their personal interests or career goals.

Volunteer opportunities are available at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The center volunteers provide services which help military personnel and families settle into their new surroundings by offering such things as base brochures, videos, loan closet items, Airman's Attic merchandise, welcome packets, and sponsorship material.
