Col Thane A. Sisson is Commander of the 377th Maintenance Group, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. He is responsible for the DoD’s largest Protection Level One weapons storage and maintenance facility. Col Sisson also oversees the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and conventional munitions support to all agencies on Kirtland Air Force Base.
Col Sisson received his commission from the United States Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas in 2004. He has been an Air Force Squadron commander twice. First at the 39th Maintenance Squadron, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Here he sustained the NATO surety mission and the USAF back-shop maintenance capability for Incirlik AB.
His next command was at the 23d Maintenance Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, where he was responsible for more than 890 military and civilian personnel encompassing the support of A-10C, HC-130J, HH-60G aircraft, and the munitions stockpile.
Prior to assuming his current position, Col Sisson served as the Defense Logistics Agency’s J3 Director’s Action Group Chief, Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia where his efforts enhanced support to the Warfighter.
