11/15/2012 - KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- An Airman from the 58th Maintenance Squadron at Kirtland AFB, N.M., was sentenced to 11 years confinement, a dishonorable discharge, and a reprimand by a military judge at a general court-martial here Nov. 9.

Airman First Class Corey Hudgins was accused of sexually assaulting two female Airmen on Kirtland AFB in 2011 and 2012.

The military judge found Hudgins guilty of all charges and specifications, which included rape, forcible sodomy, and assault consummated by battery. Before the guilty verdict, prosecutor Capt. Ashley Vincent argued that Hudgins had "baited" one of his victims into his on-base dormitory room to sexually assault her, while on a separate occasion, he ignored the other victim's pleas for him to stop.

The military judge could have imposed a sentence ranging from no punishment up to life in prison, a dishonorable discharge, total forfeitures and reduction to E-1.

Before any approved sentence becomes final, Hudgins will have an opportunity to appeal for clemency from the convening authority.
