Marine joint exercise
Members of Alpha Company, 1st Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division conduct a mission brief prior to beginning a joint exercise with 58th Special Operations Wing, on Kirtland AFB. During the event members of Alpha Company and the 58th conducted joint support battlespace shaping operations ahead of advancing friendly forces. Food drive

Truman Gate
There will be major impacts and delays at Truman Gate throughout the duration of the Global Thunder Vigilant Shield exercise Nov. 2-6. Other gates will experience minor delays and there will be impacts to Gibson Road traffic Nov. 3. Customers may experience longer wait times at the Consolidated Support Facility and other customer service facilities. Bulk Fuels Facility
The Air Force and the New Mexico Environment Department are hosting a field trip Oct. 24 at Kirtland Air Force Base to demonstrate the work being done to remove groundwater contamination caused by a leak at the base bulk fuels facility. The field trip is open to the public. In June, a pump-and-treat water system was installed that successfully extracted and treated more than two million gallons of water. (Photo by Todd Berenger)
