OUTDOOR RECREATION Lunar Snowshoe Hike Trip. Scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Desert moonlight on the white winter snow is beautiful. Add the city lights in the background and you have Outdoor Recreation's Lunar Snowshoe Hike. Participants should be in fair shape, but this is not a difficult hike and is designed for just about everyone. Trip is held in the Sandia Mountains and includes transportation, leader, snowshoe rental and hot chocolate. Please dress properly and bring snacks and water. Kids must be a minimum of 12 years old and accompanied by a legal guardian. Cost is $15 a person. Ski Trips Scheduled: Sipapu Ski Area Trip on Jan. 27.Santa Fe Ski Area on Feb. 10. Avalanche Day Outing If you have taken the Avalanche Clinic (see above), this day outing is a must. We will cover all aspects of winter travel and avalanche forecasting. Trip includes equipment, instructor and transportation. You must have proper clothing, backpack, footwear, snacks, lunch and lots of water. Cost is $35 a person, Feb. 18. VOLUNTEER RAFT GUIDE Starting in April you can be trained as a volunteer raft guide for the summer season. Training costs $100 and will be held most weekends in April. The fee will be fully refunded at the end of the season to guides who fulfill their guiding commitment.
