At the event, children and their families enjoyed a free holiday meal, entertainment, and received a brand new gift from Santa. "[Operation Holiday Cheer] lets [the community] know their emergency services organization is more than just that," said Terence Eaton, Kirtland Fire Department battalion chief, "We're community members ourselves so we are there to provide support for them, just like they support us."
