Special Operations and combat rescue crews execute a not-so-well-known mission within the Air Force. Members of the unit recently went on the road to share the mission with students in undergraduate pilot training. Here a 71st Special Operations Squadron CV-22 Osprey receives fuel from a 522 SOS, MC-130J Commando II aircraft, over the skies of New Mexico. The 71 SOS is stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., and conducted air refueling training with the 522 SOS, stationed at Cannon AFB, N.M.
