The U.S. flag at Kirtland AFB was lowered to half staff Jan. 6 in honor of Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez, who died Dec. 30. Marquez is credited with revolutionizing the maintenance and logistics career fields and has an Air Force award named after him, recognizing excellence in aircraft, munitions and missile maintenance.
