In-Place Patient Decontamination training
Members of the 377th Medical Group test their triage and decontamination skills during In-Place Patient Decontamination training June 28 at Kirtland AFB’s 377th MDG Main Clinic. Seventeen Airmen participated in the training, which provides education on life saving skills required to triage, initiate field treatment, manage patient flow, decontaminate and save victims from chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear emergencies. Here, students worked to decontaminate mock casualties from a terrorist attack using a weapon of mass destruction.

Senior Airman Rocquisha Locke inoculates Airman 1st Class Kadienne Simons during an Individual Medical Readiness activity May 24 at the 58th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. The IMR is part of an initiative to bring medical teams to units to ensure they are conveniently caught up on medical requirements for deployment readiness. Because of shift work and maintenance-unique duty requirements, 58 AMXS Airmen have difficulty pursuing requirements such as Physical Health Assessments during normal clinic hours.

Pharmacy
The 377 MDG Main Clinic Pharmacy has launched a new over-the-counter medication program for all enrolled patients. The goal of the new OTC program is to eliminate the need to be seen by a provider for common cold symptoms, select other over the counter treatable conditions, and offer a means to receive OTC medications at no cost to patients.
