36th Rescue Flight rescues injured horseback rider Published July 29, 2013 By 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Airmen from the 36th Rescue Flight, a geographically-separated unit under the 58th Special Operations Wing, rescued a 66-year-old man Sunday afternoon. The man was reported nearly 60 miles southest of Lewiston, Idaho with injuries to his hip and leg after falling off his horse. Treatment was provided by medics in his party and assistance was provided by a local ground rescue team. The rescue took approximately three hours from the time the 36th RQF received the call to the time the rescuee was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho. The crew, consisting of Maj. Brent Golembiewski, aircraft commander; Capt R. Tyler Rennell, co-pilot; Tech.Sgt. Kenneth Griego, flight engineer; and Master Sgt. Joseph Brownell, independent duty medical technician, took part in the rescue "We were very glad to provide assistance," Rennell. "The crew, maintenance personnel and the ground rescue team were fantastic. This rescue was the flight's 683rd.
