As a result of an increase in the number of "no shows" for medical and dental appointments, the 377th Medical Group has made a policy change.

A 24-hour advance notice must be given for appointment cancellations. Squadron commanders, or the equivalent, and first sergeants will be notified of all no-shows for scheduled appointments. Appointments may be canceled in advance by calling 846-3200 from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., or anytime using www.tricareonline.com.

"We realize there are unforeseen life events, but when a patient does not show for a scheduled appointment, it causes waste of valuable treatment time, creates inefficiencies, and deprives others from receiving timely care," said Maj. Shar Wagar, group practice manager.

Failure to attend, or arriving 10 or more minutes late, to a scheduled appointment are considered "no shows."
