Kirtland to host Technology and Cyber Security Day Published Aug. 12, 2013 By Adam Bailey Nucleus staff writer KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Those with an interest in technology should attend the annual Technology and Cyber Security Day. "The event gives people a chance to learn about cyber security awareness and the latest advancements in technology," said Mike O'Neill, federal business council director The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Mountain View Club. There will be live demonstrations, hands-on exhibits and samples. There will also be three educational sessions. HP Enterprise Security is hosting a session on software security at 10:30 a.m., Wolfram will host a session on mathematical computational platform at 11:40 a.m. and Vormetric will host a session on data protection at 12:50 p.m. "The major change for this event this year is the focus on the sessions. Usually we only do the technology exhibits," O'Neill said. "We're bringing some value in terms of the educational sessions we're offering this time." Those who attend the sessions will be able to receive a CPE certificate. This event has been going on for over 10 years and is hosted by the Albuquerque chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
