When the 898th Munitions Squadron intramural softball team took the field for the championship game, they had just one thing on their mind. Revenge.

The 898th MUNS suffered its only loss of the regular season to the 377th Weapons System Security Squadron, so it seemed fitting that the players would have a chance to atone for the lone blemish on their team's record. The outcome was different the second time, with 898th the victor, 16-12.

"We've taken second place the last two years, so it was a good change to actually win first place," said Staff Sgt. Zachary Lee, coach of the 898th MUNS. "We played hard, played with a 'you can beat us once but you can't beat us twice' mentality, and it paid off."

Trailing 12-9 in the bottom of the sixth inning, 377th WSSS coach Edwin Rodriguez rocked a three-run home run to tie the score. The MUNS then strung together a batch of base hits in the final inning to take a four-run lead. Defense held in the bottom of the inning, giving the team the victory and hand WSSS its first loss of the year.
