Kirtland's 377th Medical Group was deemed the best of 66 military treatment facilities Air Force-wide and received the 2013 Surgeon General's Award for Best Clinic of the Year.

"Every member of the 377th Medical Group should stand tall, as it took the entire team - military, civilians, and our contractors - to realize this achievement," said Col. Rachel Lefebvre, 377th MDG commander. "Our team members' leadership, efforts and creativity are second to none."

The colonel said this pinnacle award provided "the icing on the cake" for the group, which recently received two Air Force Materiel Command awards: Outstanding PRP Team of the Year and Medium Dental Clinic of the Year.

The clinic's 317 personnel are responsible for the medical and dental care for more than 4,000 active duty, Guard and Reserve members, as well as more than 8,000 beneficiaries. Additionally, the clinic has a joint venture with the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System, and is engaging in strategic partnerships with local Albuquerque healthcare systems, ensuring the highest quality specialty care for all enrolled beneficiaries.

The clinic is currently increasing its enrollment in order to better meet the needs of DOD beneficiaries in the Albuquerque area. Beneficiaries currently receiving their primary care from off-base providers may contact United Healthcare's military/veteran customer service line at 1-877-988-9378 for information on making the switch to the award-winning 377th Medical Group.
