Kirtland chief selected as command chief for AFSOC unit Published Jan. 15, 2014 By Kendahl Johnson 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- A chief master sergeant from Kirtland was selected to be command chief of the 352nd Special Operations Group at RAF Mildenhall , England . Chief Master Sgt. Robert Gibbons, superintendent of the 58th Maintenance Group, will begin his new job at the end of March. "It's an honor to be selected," Gibbons said. "I'm definitely excited for the opportunity to become a command chief, and be able to take care of Airmen and their families and support the mission." The chief will be responsible for about 1,500 people. The 352nd SOG is a mission partner with the 100th Air Refueling Wing.
