Air Force and NMED to host public information meeting Oct. 23 Published Oct. 14, 2014 By AFCEC Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The Air Force and the New Mexico Environment Department will host a public information meeting Thursday, Oct. 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., to provide an update on cleanup activities related to the Kirtland Air Force Base Bulk Fuels Facility site. The quarterly event has been moved to a new venue this month: the African American Performing Arts Center, located at 310 San Pedro Drive Northeast. Representatives from the Air Force, NMED and the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority will be present to respond to community questions and provide current status on soil and groundwater contamination remediation, as well as discuss the possibility of organizing a Restoration Advisory Board for the Bulk Fuels Facility project.
