Kirtland's annual holiday toy drive is underway.

Volunteers from the Airman's Attic and Kirtland Rising 6, sponsors of the event, aim to collect thousands of brand new toys throughout the holiday season.

"This is a chance for us to give back to our own," said Tech. Sgt. Sarah Hall, project manager for the toy drive. "The toys we collect will be given to those at Kirtland who have children and hold the rank of staff sergeant or below."

Donation boxes are located at the Base Exchange, Commissary and 377th Medical Group and will be there through Dec. 12. In addition to donation boxes, volunteers will work at donation tables Nov. 28-30.

The toy drive committee will also post donation boxes at squadrons upon request.   Squadron representatives can request a box by contacting Tech. Sgt. Salvador Felix at 853-2967 or via email at salvador.felix@us.af.mil.

The collected toys will be given to parents Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at the old mini-mall located next to the Base Theater.
