Tax center seeks volunteers Published Dec. 23, 2014 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Providing a place for service members to get help in filing taxes is a major base initiative, but it cannot operate without the help of volunteers. The Kirtland Income Tax Center, which provides tax filing services to eligible service members, is seeking volunteers. The tax center will open Feb. 3 in the Consolidated Support Center. Training for volunteers will take place Jan. 12-16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Distance Learning Center in the 377th Air Base Wing Headquarters Building. Those who can't make the class can train on their own via an IRS training packet available at the Legal Office. Those volunteering for an administrative position do not need training.
