Letters to Santa: Kids at Youth Center craft holiday letters

  • Published
Heather Nield helped her class of about a dozen kindergarten and elementary-school-age kids at the Youth Center get into the holiday spirit. On Dec. 12, the kids wrote good, old-fashioned letters to Old St. Nick, and wanted to share them:

Dear Santa,
If Rudolph is sick, how will you light your way? Will you put flashlights on the reindeer? Why do elves have pointy ears? Can I try out to be an elf? Can you make sure that all my friends and family have a merry Christmas? Please write back.
Sincerely, your friend,
Kaylee Phillips

I think Santa Claus has a big beard. I like you and you're big. You are the foom in the room and
Boom! Boom your beard! You go Boom!
Is your baby at home?
I love you.
Boom!

Dear Santa,
How are the reindeer? How do you fly around the world in one night? Do you use time travel or jet rocket boosters?
How did you meet your wife, Mrs. Claus? Did you meet her under the mistletoe? Because my mom and dad met while my mom was a cheerleader and my dad was a football
player. Does the magic in your reindeer come with them or do you just pretend that the sugar with the yellow dye is "magical" fairy dust?
Am I on the nice list?
Sincerely,
Kalina Carrizales

Dear Santa,
How many elves do you have? Can I try out to be an elf? Am I on the naughty list or the good list?
Sincerely,
Andrea Rector

Dear Santa,
How many elves do you have? I wish I were an elf.
How many reindeer do you have? Is it eight, nine or seven? I wish I could see a reindeer.
Do you help the elves? If I were an elf, would you help me? I want to know if Miss Heather is
on the nice list. What do reindeer eat?
Sincerely,
Emily Key

Dear Santa,
How are you doing? Santa, how do you get here so quick? I like you I want to see you and I want to see Rudolph and one of your elves. Your elves are great. Santa, I want to have a bag full of presets. Why do you like cookies? I want to have a lot of candy in my stocking.
