Kirtland Warrior: Airman 1st Class Rashaun Carter Published Jan. 20, 2015 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- KIRTLAND WARRIOR Name: Airman 1st Class Rashaun Carter Unit: 58th Operations Support Squadron Duty Title: Aircrew flight equipment technician Hometown: Atlanta, Ga. Goals: Finish bachelor's degree in information security at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and get commissioned as an officer and eventually become a motivated speaker. Accomplishments: Carter has been stationed at Kirtland since February 2014. He removes, inspects and repairs emergency flight equipment on HC-130P, MC-130/H/J, HH-60 G, UH-1N, CV-22B aircraft. He provides service to more than 2,400 aircrew members and issues mission enhancement devices to include Night Vision Goggles and Combat Radios. He oversees more than 2,300 critical flight equipment data and inspection entries in the Flight Equipment Records Management System. He is the assistant vice president of the Air Force Sergeants Association. Carter is very involved in the base and local community, and was recently selected to sing at the New Mexico bowl during the halftime show.
