Daniel Lohmiller Unit: 58th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Duty Title: CV-22 Tiltrotor Maintenance Apprentice Hometown: Soldiers Grove, Wisc. Goals: Earn bachelor's degree in radiology, build a rock crawler, finish 7-level upgrade training and course 15 before the end of the year, get more involved in the community by doing educational events with kids Accomplishments: Recently cross-trained from vehicle maintenance to aircraft maintenance where he is now performing duties as a crew chief in the only training unit for CV-22s. Responsible for the operational readiness of seven CV-22s valued at over $623 million. Maintenance efforts also sustain a robust Pilot Flying Training Program, which exceeded 1,700 hours in fiscal 2014. In his short tenure at Kirtland, Lohmiller has become a vital asset and has been qualified on more than 400 TBA tasks and has completed all 5-level requirements.
